Letter #1 -To The Book Blogging Community

I have always loved letters since I was a child, and I always found them easy to write, so I had the idea a while ago that every week or so I could write a letter to someone whether they are fictional or not and tell them what they mean to me. I hope I can do this and not chicken out of it in a few weeks. So my first letter is to anyone who reads this, but mostly its to the book blogging community.

Letter #1 - To the Book Blogging Community

To all the book lovers in the Book Blogging community whether that is booktube or bookblogs. You have created a part of the internet where people can talk, discuss, rant argue and love books without any kind of prejudice which is the most amazing things I have ever had the pleasure to see.

I have loved books ever since I can remember, and growing up my love for books grew however I felt like I had to hide my love for books because it wasn't "cool" to be a bookworm which I was, I mean my friends knew I read books, but they thought I meant like a book a months or something not nearly two books a week which I actually did. It was only until I went into Sixth Form when I could actually show my deep love for books as I was studying English Literature and could be passionate about books in class and talk about books freely, this helped me a lot because I knew I didn't need self conscious about how much I loved books and how much I wanted to be a writer when I was older.

Flash forward three years and I am in university studying English Literature and Creative Writing, and then whilst mindlessly scrolling through tumblr and youtube,I discover youtubers who talk about books, and I couldnt stop watching, and then I found book blogs. I had found an amazing community who loved books and were proud to call themselves book lovers and I fell in love with the community so I started my own blog in the may of this year and starting posting my thoughts on books. When I started this blog I was so happy to be so nicely welcomed into this community and for other book bloggers/ booktubers being so sweet and so helpful it was the best thing I could ever have asked for. This blog has given me the chance to talk to people who love books as much as I do and the people I have met becuase of it are the nicest people I could ever have had the pleasure to have met and talked to,  also in my short time i have seen the community go through some highs and lows but they always stick together and fight for each other which I am so proud of them for. So I just wanted to say to the book blogging/ booktubing community Thank you, you have helped a very shy book lover come out of her shell and share her love of books and her mind with anyone who is willing to listen, and this is all to this amazing community, so finally Thank you Book Blogging Community for everything

The Reading Habits Tag!

I was tagged by the lovely Imogen from Imogen's Typewriter to do this tag so thank you for tagging me in my first tag, so here are my answers to the questions. Enjoy!

1. Do you have a certain place for reading at home?
The majority of the time I will read in my room where I know I wont be disturbed, so I will either read on my bed or in my big chair so I'm comfy whilst I read.

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Definitely bookmarks! I am constantly buying bookmarks or getting given them because either they're so pretty or I cant help myself because I think 'Oh I have lots of books so I can have another bookmark' Never a good thought for my bank balance ;)

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or a certain number of pages?

Sometimes if I have to leave and put the book down straight away then I can stop reading, but I really hate doing that, but when I have the choice I will stop at chapters if I want to stop at all.

4. Do you eat or drink when reading?

Not really unless I know I am going to have a full on reading session for a good few hours then I will have bottle or glass of water next to me, so I don't really have to come out of my room and stop reading for a drink.

5. Do you watch TV or listen to music whilst reading?

No I dont watch TV whilst reading becuase I know I will get distracted and end up not reading. Sometimes I will have music playing in the background softly so Im not sitting in silence, but I like playing music that kind of reflects the book I'm reading.

6. One book at a time or several at once?
Normally I will only read one book at time otherwise I will get confused about what is happening in the book. Sometimes I will read several at once if I either get a new release which I really want to read then I will read several once or if I have books for my course to read then I have to read more than one at a time.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?

If I get the choice I will read at home but I will read everywhere if I get the chance to read

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Always silently in my head, I prefer it that way because otherwise It would take me forever to get through a boo, the only time I will read out loud is either when it is a really like emotional part or if it is the last page of the book, I dont know why its only those parts but I cant help but read those parts out loud.

9. Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?

When I was younger I did, I used to always read the last line of the book before I had even started, which would obviously kind of wreck the book, but I dont do that anymore.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?

I hate breaking spine, I like keeping my books looking brand-new, the only time I won't mind broken spines is when I have had the book for years and the spine is broken from reading it so many times.

11. Do you write in your books?

God no! I hate having any kinds of marks on my books, even when I have to annotate textbooks and novels for my course, I cant stand having to deface the interior of a book.

12. What are you currently reading?
Right now I am in the middle of a few books, which are :
Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead (Re-read)
Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone (Re-read)
Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte (One of my course reads)

A big thank you to Imogen for tagging me in this, and I am going to tag Holly from A DayDreamer's Thoughts, Lucy from Queen of Contemporary and Giselle from Perks of Being a Reader

Write again soon x
