Holly Wilson has landed a dream job but there is one proviso... she must keep it secret, and that means telling lies. Holly hates telling lies. Her latest assignment has brought her to the paradise island of Mauritius where she meets a British couple, Robert and Rosemary, who share a tragic secret of their own. The moment they introduce Holly to handsome writer, Philippe, she begins to fall in love, something she hasn’t allowed herself to do for twenty years. But Philippe has not been completely honest either and when Holly stumbles across the truth, she feels totally betrayed.

Review

When I first began reading this book I was slightly skeptical over the characters and their roles within the narrative as in truth there are only four main character from whom the plot centered around, Holly , Phillipe, Robert and Rosemary, and the narrative is told through their own lives, but as soon as I started reading I was hooked!

The story follows Holly Wilson a travel blogger during an undercover hotel visit who is perfectly happy being alone, until she is invited to dine with two veterans of the island and their handsome friend Phillipe who might just be falling for Holly .

The characters are so well thought out and created that I couldn't help but feel emotionally connected to them whenever things happened to them they pulled on my heartstrings especially when they happened to Holly, she is such a loveable character and so human its is very easy to want the best for her and you really are rooting for her the whole way through the book ( myself especially as with the same name thing I couldn't help but want her to be happy).

The other characters are also brilliantly written in ways that ways that do not do them justice unless you read the book but the basis of them is that Phillipe is a writer, handsome and challenging is a good word for him as he is so sweet and lovely but can change instantly from his past but you cant help but fall in love with him when reading about him, just be weary when approaching his tall dark handsome stranger ;)

And last are Robert and Rosemary and oh my goodness they are brilliant they are the cutest people ever, and they must be one of the most kind-hearted pair I have ever have the pleasure of reading about, so thank you Julia for writing them, they make you feel like family when you read about them, truly loved them.

Overall i really enjoyed reading this book, with the characters, the absorbing plot which keeps you hooked until the end and the glorious setting of Mauritius makes this book ideal for the summer or any holiday in the sun so you can soak up the sun with this perfect holiday read, I honestly cannot wait for the next book in the series so I can read it and find out what happens to Holly next .

Author Bio
Following the launch of her first book, Julia needed a well-deserved break and booked a holiday to Mauritius. Her children, now adults, had bought her a notebook with words on the cover that read Hold on people…  I’m having an Idea. On the first morning of her holiday, Julia had just that – the idea for her first novel.
Over the course of the ten days she was in Mauritius, she scribbled copious notes, thoughts and ideas. When she arrived home, she started writing.
Life’s a Beach is part one of the Liberty Sands trilogy.  Julia has already started writing book two, If He Really Loved Me… , which she hopes to finish in the Autumn.
